See You Out There

Carol Handley Presents saxophonist Kyle Wolverton at The Kirkland Performing Arts Center.  The Kirkland native returns for an unofficial homecoming on Saturday, September 10th at 8:00pm.  As a Smooth In Seattle listener you can purchase tickets at a 10% discount.  Currently living in Los Angeles, Kyle returns with his All-Star Band for a very special night of music and conversation.

When Kyle Wolverton’s debut CD, “SOUL GROOVE”, was released, he took the jazz community by storm.  The CD is jam-packed with one of the most eclectic mixes of musical works in recent memory.  From the hard driving “New Tattoo” to the sultry rendition of the Bee Gee’s “How Deep is Your Love”, the album has a common thread – soul laced with deep grooves.

The saxmans style is rooted in R&B with a blend of funk and gospel mixed in.  Wolverton’s debut effort produced two Billboard hits; “Miss Peaches” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling”.  The effort won Kyle the nomination for Smooth Jazz’ “Best New Artist of the Year”.

Wolverton’s band is simply referred to as the “All-Star Band”.  This unofficial label has come to be for good reason.  Each of the five players who share the stage are musical heavyweights who have all been a part of some of the biggest touring acts of all time.  The Jazz Crusaders, Wayne Shorter, Carlos Santana,  Greg Adams, Sheila E, Tiera, Marc Anthony, and many more.  The musical sum of this group of musicians is a live show that is unparalleled.

The September 10 performance marks Kyle Wolverton’s unofficial homecoming as he was raised in Kirkland.  Previously, Kyle has performed at both the St. Michelle Winery and Jazz Alley.  Seeing the show at the intimate, 400 seat Kirkland Performance Center is sure to provide a very memorable experience for Seattle jazz lovers.

Purchase Tickets at www.KPCenter.org.  Be sure to use the code “Smooth In Seattle” to receive your 10% ticket discount.
